RPR Technologies

RPR Coating Removal uses patented technology based on induction.

How does it work

The induction technology applies high frequency currents which are transferred to magnetic steel witha coating.  Moving an inductor head over the surface creates a quick and controlled heat impact of that surface. Temperatures reach from 160°C to 210°C. This allows coatings with thickness up to 25mm to be removed easily in flakes or strips. The process is very efficient and can achieve removal rates of 30m2/hour. Removal rate depends upon accessibility, flatness, type of coating and layer thickness.

The RPR Induction system can remove most type of coatings like PFP (Passive Fire Protection), GRP (Glas Fiber), Reinforced epoxy, anti-skid epoxy, 3LPE, Asbestos, thick rubber coatings and hazardous paints like Chrome-6.

The RPR Induction System requires a minimum steel thickness of 4 to 5 mm in order to eliminate risk of damages back side of the coating like insulation material or paint.

RPR is worlds most environmentally friendly coating removal technology

The induction technology is unequalled environmentally friendly. As opposed to other technologies like grid blasting, water jetting, use of chemicals there is no uncontrolled residual waste, no blasting media, (sand, grit, polluted water), no airborne particles, minimum of fume. No noise unlike systems using compressors, and a safe working environment.

Efficient removal and easy handling

The RPR Induction technology can be used on most paints and coating. It is however most efficient on hard and tough coatings . With conventional methods one would need a huge amount of grit or water, and even additional tools like chisels would be required. The RPR system simply dis-bonds the layer quick and easy. Conventional coating removal technologies are cracking the layer in pieces and all those particles has to be collected and disposed. The RPR System does not crack the layer but it comes off in strips or flakes and can be collected safe and easy. The absence of contaminated residual waste, water or grit, makes the RPR System extremely suitable for removal of hazardous coating such as asbestos, lead, or PCB’s.
